Ultra Racing for 2020 Toyota Vios is available NOW!

Toyota Vios NCP150 launched in Malaysia

The third generation of B-segment sedan – 2013 Toyota Vios (XP150) has been launched in Malaysia. Toyota Vios is powered by a 1.5 litre 1NZ-FE four-cylinder with VVT-I, four-speed auto with Super ECT or a five-speed stick-shift in the manual J variant.

There are enhancements on interior and exterior in each generation done by the manufacturer within these few years and also the specialty of facelift in every generation. Although the engine and gearboxes aren’t new, this new model offers an improvement in fuel consumption over the previous Vios. Contributing to the improved fuel economy are various components in the engine bay that have been redesigned to be lighter or more compact, including the engine’s air cleaner housing and related parts.

How many bars available for Toyota Vios NCP150?

In Ultra Racing, the bars that are available for 2013 Toyota Vios are Front Strut Bar, Rear Anti Roll Bar, Front Anti Roll Bar, Front Lower Bar in 2 points & 4 points, Middle Lower Bar, Rear Lower Bar in 4 points & 6 points, Rear Torsion Bar, Fender Bar, Room Bar and Rear Strut Bar.

The functionality of each of the bars after installed on your Almera Turbo are explained below.

STAGE 1 (Front Strut Bar & Rear Anti Roll Bar)

Stage 1 which includes Front Strut Bar and Rear Anti Roll Bar, is the primary set to enhance the performance of your car.

Front Strut Bar / Front Tower Bar

Toyota Vios doesn’t come with OEM front strut bar from the car manufacturer. Ultra Racing developed the front strut bar for Toyota Vios, located at the top of the absorber (left and right) in order not to affect the normal procedure of service and maintenance.

The car chassis will affect the left and right strut tower and suppress changes in body distortion that occur during running. Furthermore, continuous stress will cause distortion little by little. As known by majority, tire friction, suspension forces, defects from rain water and old car with age will affect a car’s life span. Aftermarket suspension and modifications will also increase the burden of the car chassis.

One of the methods to deal with such a situation is to install a front strut bar/front tower bar, by connecting the left and right strut towers to increase rigidity. Apart from being easy to install, it is the most effective reinforcement part that demonstrates high performance

Rear Anti Roll Bar / Rear Sway Bar

The OEM rear suspension setups of Toyota Vios comes with torsion beam system without stabilizer bar. Ultra Racing has decided to develop a solid 16mm OD (outside diameter) rear anti roll bar, as it significantly improves the handling performance and maintains the comfortability of the car.

A normal road is not flat as a race track, it is often uneven and bumpy. When the left and right suspension alignment are different such as during cornering, the stabilizer twists the bar and suppresses the roll by its restoring force. This will result in an understeer or oversteer and also there’s a risk to lose control if over body roll.

STAGE 2 (Lower Arm Bar)

The manufacturer does provide the OEM rear lower side bar for Toyota Vios. Ultra Racing has designed an upgraded version of the rear lower side bar to replace the OEM bar. There’s also an additional 4 points rear lower bar in order to enhance the stiffness of the chassis.

Stage 2, comprising Front Lower Bar, Mid Lower Bar, Rear Lower Bar, Rear Lower Side Bar and Rear Torsion Bar are able to reduce the car chassis flex and strengthen the main chassis platform. For 2013 Toyota Vios, the manual version is able to fit in the Front Lower Bar in 2 points and 4 points but the auto version is only able to fit in 4 points. It is highly recommended for heavy load vehicles such as SUV or MPV as it helps to enhance the stiffness and handling during higher speed  and cornering.
